THE FIRST CRUSADERSDANIEL 11:16 " But he who comes will do as he will and none shall stand before him. He shall stand in the glorious land, and destruction in his hand." Daniel 11:17 " And he shall set his face to go in with the strength of his whole Kingdom. They sought to enter with the upright ones with him; so shall he do. He shall give him the daughter of woman to destroy it. She will not stand, nor be for him." HE SHALL STAND IN THE GLORIOUS LAND The glorious land was Palestine. Daniel 11: 17 " And he shall set his face to go with the strength of his whole Kingdom. They sought to enter with the upright ones with him." The upright ones were the Catholic Armies. The Catholics that made up the Armies of the Crusade: these were the uprights ones. Pope Urban II at the Council of Clermont in 1095: he urged all Catholics to unite. All the Catholics came from all over the European Countries. All Armies took different routes to Constantinople. Constantinople was the Byzantine Empire. Daniel 11: 17 " And he shall set his face to go in with the strength of his whole Kingdom. These sought to go in with the strength of his upright ones this He did." He set his face to go into Jerusalem with the First Crusader. His whole Kingdom was the Byzantine Kingdom. The upright ones were the multitude of Catholics that were urged by the Pope. The Pope urged the Catholics to unite in the First Crusade. 52
(THE SECOND CRUSADE)
All Eight Crusades were one great era of events. The Crusades were ordered by the Pope, except Frederick II. This was because Frederick was not ordered by the Pope. They did not consider Frederick's Crusade as being one of the Crusades. The Second Crusade started with Daniel. Daniel 11:17 "... And he shall give the Daughter of Woman to him, to destroy it." (This is reading from the Hebrew, Greek and English Translation Bible.) The Woman is symbolic for a Christian Body of People, as in Revelation. Revelation 12:1 "... A Woman clothed with the Sun and the moon under her feet." This Woman in Revelation 12:1, was a symbol of a Religious Body of People.
(THE DAUGHTER OF WOMAN)
This Daughter of WOMAN that was given unto him was the Church. This was the Church of SAINT BERNARD of CLAIRVAUX. Saint Bernard was the Preacher of the Second Crusade. Daniel 11:17 " But she, the Church Saint Bernard at Clairvaux was not for him. They shall not stand on his side neither is for him. The Catholic Church at Clairvaux was to Preach the Second Crusade. She, the Church wanted the Holy Land to be given back to the Catholic Church. In this, She, the Woman that was the Catholic Church: wanted the land. This was the Daughter of the Church at Rome that would not stand on His side. His was the King Conred III: neither would they be for him. Because She would not stand on his side, neither is for him. Conred III, took the Cross and led the Armies in the Second Crusade. 53
(THE THIRD CRUSADE)
The Third Crusade started with Daniel 11:18 " And he shall turn his face to the coast." (Reading from the Hebrew, Greek and English Translation Bible) The Word He, is used throughout the Crusades, meaning the Kings that are in authority. In the Third Crusade the Word He, started with King Richard. King Richard was the Lion Hearted King of England. He turned his face to the Coast and captured the Great Port of Acre and others. (BUT A RULER OF HIS SHALL CAUSE THE REPROACH TO CEASE) (Reading from the Hebrew, Greek, and English Translation Bible.) Daniel 11:18 "...Cause the reproach offered by him to Cease..." This ruler was PHILIP AGUSTUS; PHILIP soon gave up the Crusade. Philip returned home to plot against King Richard the Lion Hearted. Philip stirred up trouble for Richard: this news caused Richard to Cease. Causing Richards reproach against the Holy Lands to Cease. Just like the Word of God has said in Daniel 11:18 "...Cause the reproach offered by him to Cease..."
