HIS REPROACH TO RETURN UNTO HIM

DANIEL 11:18 "... Cause the reproach offered by him to cease..." Upon Richards return home, he found the trouble Philip Agustus had stirred up. Philip was stirring up trouble causing Richards reproach to return unto him.

THE FORTRESSES OF HIS OWN LAND

Daniel 11:19 "Then he shall turn his face toward the Fortresses of his own land. He will stumble and fall, and not be found." Upon King Richards’s return he turned his face toward the Fortress of his own land; Because of Philip Agustus and the trouble he had stirred up. King Richard had to start fighting along the Fortresses of his own land. And in battle: Richard, the Lion Hearted King was killed. As the Scripture has said: he would stumble and he was not heard of again or was not found.  This King Richard was killed: this ended the Third Crusade.         54

AN EXACTOR WHO SENDS: FOR THE GLORY OF THE KINGDOM.

Daniel 11:20 "Then shall stand in his place: one who sends. Then shall arise an exactor for the glory of the Kingdom. Within a few days he will be broken, but not in anger, nor in battle." The Word, EXACTOR Means: Someone that is Always Right, or Exact: this was the Pope. The POPE was the SENDER, or one who SENDS. Pope Innocent III, Vigorously preached, or SENT the FOURTH CRUSADE. This was for the GLORY of the Kingdom of the Holy Roman Empire. The Kingdom was the Holy Roman Empire, and the Papal States.

BROKEN NEITHER IN ANGER NOR IN BATTLE                                                    Daniel 11:20 " But within a few days, will be broken, but not in anger, nor in battle." The Fourth Crusade began with bargaining with the Venetians. The Venetians took them by ship to the Eastern Mediterranean. When the Crusaders got to Venice: They could not pay the transportation cost. So the Crusaders abandoned their Crusade to Jerusalem. The Fourth Crusade to Jerusalem ended, neither in anger, nor in battle."

THE FIFTH CRUSADE: THEY WOULD NOT GIVE HONOR TO THE KING.

Daniel 11:21 " And one despised shall stand up in his place. They shall not give Frederick II the King's honor. They shall come in while at ease, and take the kingdom by intrigues." Reading from the Hebrew, Greeks, and English Translation Bible.) The despised ruler was Frederick II, of the Holy Roman Empire.

THE FIFTH CRUSADE WAS LED BY KING FREDERICK II, OF THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE.  The Fifth Crusade was led by Frederick II, in 1228 TO 1229. This Crusade is called the Fifth Crusade by some Historians and the Sixth Crusade by others.   When Frederick led the Fifth Crusade: there was an unsuccessful Crusade between 1217 to 1221. Frederick's Crusade: sometimes called the Fifth Crusade, not numbered by other.

   THE DESPISED RULER

The reason Frederick II was despised is: He did not have the approval of the Pope. Pope Gregory IX, despised, and severely disciplined Frederick, as in Daniel. Daniel 11:21 " And one despised shall stand up in his place." They would not give Frederick II the King's honor.

COME IN WHILE AT EASE, AND TAKE THE KINGDOM BY INTRIGUES

Daniel 11:21 "... But they shall come in while at ease, and take the kingdom by intrigues." Frederick II came in while the Moslems were at ease, and took the Kingdom of Jerusalem by intrigues.

(FROM BEFORE HIM)

Daniel 11:22 " And the force of the overflow shall be swept from before him..." Also the ruler of a covenant was the Moslems that were at ease.  The Force of the Overflow was the Force of the Moslems that was swept: that would have had to overflow, meaning: to battle, if they had not made a treaty. The treaty was between Frederick and the Moslems: to secure Jerusalem for the Christians.

(EVEN FOR A TIME)

Daniel 11:23 " And after they join themselves to him: he shall practice deceit. For he shall come and be strong with a few People."

Daniel 11:24 "He will enter safely into the rich places of the province. He shall do what his father had not done, nor his father's, fathers. He shall plunder spoil, and scatter goods among them..." Daniel 11:24 "... And he shall devise his plot against the fort even for a time." A TIME is a YEAR, as in Daniel 4:25 "... Seven times shall pass over thee..."  This was Seven Years that NEBUCHADNEZZAR: King of Babylon was driven from his kingdom. A TIME was a YEAR that Frederick II pondered: from 1228 to 1229, as in Daniel. Daniel 11:24 " He did what his father had not done, nor his father's, fathers..."  This was to make a truce instead of a battle for Jerusalem. Frederick came into Jerusalem safely. He was strong with a few of the Moslems and he scattered goods among them. Frederick devised his plot against the Fort. Frederick's plot was to take Jerusalem without a battle. Frederick wanted to keep the Holy Land right on; Frederick probably could have if he would have had the support of the Pope. Frederick kept it for a time, meaning One Year.                         endd 53...
