HE SHALL STAND UP AGAINST THE KING OF THE SOUTH:Daniel 11:25 " And he shall stir up his power and his heart against the King of the South. He shall be stirred up with a Great Army. The King of the South shall be stirred up to battle with a great and mighty army. He shall not stand: for they shall device plots against him." The King that stood up against the King of the South was LOUIS IX, King of France. The King of the South was the King of Egypt. Daniel 11:25 "... But he shall not stand." LOUIS IX of France did not stand: he was defeated. Daniel 11:25 " They shall device plots against him." The Plot against LOUIS IX: He had to pay a large ransom: which forced him to return back home.
THOSE WHO EAT HIS FOOD SHALL DESTROY HIM, AND HIS ARMY SHALL FALL DOWN SLAIN:
Daniel 11:26 " Even those who eat his food shall destroy him. His army shall overflow: and shall fall down Slain, many." (This is reading from the Hebrew, Greek and English Translation Bible.) LOUIS IX led the Eighth Crusade in 1270. He died in North Africa: when the Plague broke out in his Army. Daniel 11:26 "... Even those: His Army, who eats his food, shall destroy him. Those that ate his food were his soldiers. They destroyed him when a plague broke out. LOUIS IX was destroyed by those that ate his food. AND HIS ARMY SHALL FALL DOWN SLAIN MANY: endd 54...
Daniel 11:26 " And his Army shall overflow: and shall fall down slain, many." This was the Eighth Crusade; LOUIS' Army that was overflowing: in North Africa. When the plague broke out in his Army many fell down, slain by the plague. Many fell down slain: not by the Swords, but a plague.
BOTH OF THESE KINGS HEARTS SHALL SEEK TO DO EVIL:
Daniel 11:27 " And both of these Kings hearts shall seek to do evil. They will speak lies at one table. It shall not prosper them: for the end cometh at the set time." These TWO KINGS were number (1) LOUIS IX, and Number (2) LOUIS XI. King LOUIS XI: His heart was to do evil against the Nobles; Just as King LOUIS IX, had done before him. This was by increasing his royal power at the expense of the Nobles.
THEY WILL SPEAK LIES AT ONE TABLE:
Daniel 11:27 " And they will speak Lies at one table. Both of these Kings spoke false at the same table." (1) King LOUIS IX spoke false at the table of the Nobles: to increase his power at their expense. (2) King LOUIS XI, spoke false at the same Nobles table. This was after the leader of the Nobles was killed in battle. LOUIS XI seized most of his territory: by using cruel methods. To keep his power he made, and broke laws as he pleased. King LOUIS XI spoke lies at one table to keep his power.
(AT THE SET TIME)
Daniel 11:27 "... But it shall not prosper: for the end cometh at the set time." The End came in 1512: when LOUIS IX was driven out of the territory of the Nobles. Thus, it did not prosper them: their end of ruling in the Nobles territory came at the set time.
HE RETURNED TO HIS OWN LAND WITH GREAT WEALTH:
Daniel 11: 28 "And he will return to his own land with great wealth. His heart will be against the Holy Covenant. He will act and will return to his own land." I have found in Daniel, most of the time: Daniel answered the last verses First. Here He answered the First verses last; this is the case here. The great wealth was when LOUIS XI seized most of his territory. Later the king added Province, Main, and Anjoy to the royal domain. This was the great wealth LOUIS XI returned to in his own land.
BUT HIS HEART SHALL BE AGAINST THE HOLY COVENANT. endd 55...
Daniel 11:28 " And he will act, and will return to his own land." In his act: LOUIS XI encountered the Protestant Huguenots. This caused his heart to be set against the Holy Covenant. Nevertheless he returned to his own land and wealth.
RETURN, AND COME TOWARD THE SOUTH.
Daniel 11:29 "At the set time, he will return and come toward the South..." It will not be as the former, or latter. This one to come toward the South was LOUIS XII. He invaded Italy: because he claimed Milan this was toward the South. LOUIS XII was driven out in 1512; this was the next year. Henry VIII of England defeated LOUIS XII in the Battle of the Spurs. This was the Prophecy concerning LOUIS XII.
